The Te Aroha Heritage Trail

Explore the town’s heritage on a leisurely one hour (2km) stroll around the Te Aroha township. You can pick up a walking guide from the Te Aroha i-SITE (right next to the main Domain entry gates).

Te Aroha Mountain Summit – Tui Domain Track

The Te Aroha Mountain Summit track works its way to Mount Te Aroha. With a peak of 952m Mount Te Aroha is the highest point in the Kaimai Mamaku Forest Park.  This track can be challenging in places & you’ll need a reasonable level of fitness. Allow 2.5 hours one way (3.9kms). More information available locally, or feel free to ask Greg or Linda.

Howarth Memorial Wetlands Walk

This is a short and easy walk around a bird sanctuary in the Te Aroha wetlands. The Howarth Memorial Wetlands walk is mostly flat, and an easy 50 minute trip. It’s approximately 4kms and suitable for the whole family.
The walk begins at the footbridge at Lawrence Ave or the boardwalk at Kenwyn Reserve. More information available locally, or feel free to ask Greg or Linda.
